Remembrance
I started Connected to Recover because I know what it’s like to feel alone in the dark. Years ago, I struggled with coping with the death of several loved ones in a short time frame. I found myself hiding my pain behind a mask of normalcy. I lost friends, opportunities, and nearly myself. But when I finally reached out for help, I discovered the power of connection — people who listened without judgment, who reminded me I was worth saving. That experience ignited a spark in me. I wanted others to know they weren’t alone, that a brighter day was possible. So I founded Connected to Recover, a nonprofit dedicated to raising awareness, breaking stigma, and building a supportive community. We’re here to remind people that healing happens together — and that everyone’s story deserves to be heard.
Thank you to the Jordan Leigh Foundation for providing the opportunity for others to tell some of their story!
